Hmmm. What are you making?

Murph's Original ProductsIn 1975, Kathryn Burke, fondly known as "Murph" was a wife, a mother of four - soon to be five - children decided to embark on an odyssey that would lead to the development of Murph's Original company of culinary items.  This line of products was all based on her first product known as Murph's Original Savory Sauce.  As a 1965 graduate of Mount Mary College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with a degree of Dietetics and boundless energy, she used her major degree in Chemistry and minor in Home Economics to create a unique little gift-sized bottle of her concoction to give as gifts to friends around the Christmas holidays.  Needless to say, they loved it and looked forward to the annual 8 ounce gift bottle!  After many years of stirring the kettle in her own home kitchen to produce a gallon or so of this mightily delicious and versatile product, she was encouraged to find a way to make large amounts that could be sold to and enjoyed by gourmets around the country.

This led to voyages of discovery: how to expand the small recipe into a commercial sized production load of at least 250gallons per batch for wide distribution while ensuring that the taste stayed consistent and price remained affordable.  Adding additional items that were based on the Murph's Original Sauce as a savory underpinning was a creative voyage of discovery.  Murph's Original was widely used in Bloody Marys, as a steak sauce, poured over mashed potatoes or French Fries (the old Irish touch), and as a marinade for meats as well as a finishing sauce for vegetables and side dishes.

With the incorporation of large professional production facilities the company could expand into a broad array of culinary items all using the original savory flavors in the basic sauce.  Now, the line of Murph's Original includes salad dressings, four varieties of cookies, bottled blood mary mix, and even delicious candies.  Could there be even MORE in the future?
